Following up on her magnificent first book, Ann Watters truly pulls through here. Her editing skills are unparalleled in the academic communities around the world. This is a fine college reader that was enjoyable from the start. Writing for Change does not disappoint

A plunge backward in to the Dark Ages, anyone?

This book contains quite a bit of reading which leans to the failed thinking of the Communist/Socialist/Marxist Manifesto which aims toward "changing" the rhetoric of Conservative Thought and Capitalist Thinking to thinking of those who would radically undo Modern Rome, AKA, the United States of America. For instance, one portion was written by the mother of Juan Julian Castro, the Avowed Socialist Mayor of San Antonio's Mother, Rosie, who helped found a radical, anti-white, socialist Chicano party called La Raza Unida (literally “The Race United”) that sought to create a separate country–Aztlan–in the Southwest. Rosie now helps manage her sons’ political careers, after a storied career of her own as a community activist and a stint as San Antonio Housing Authority ombudsman. While this book can be interesting reading for rhetorical discourse, it could better serve as a warning about the radical new"things to come" unless socialism and communism are excised from the modern world, after all, when Rome fell, the world plunged into the Dark Ages; modernists are not immune from creating their own Dark Age, AKA, a society where Totalitarianism brings forth the Boot of Fascism upon throats of the people.
